About Us
Sashbox was founded in 2003 to provide reliable and fast hosting services for the specialized needs of ecommerce shopping cart software - specifically osCommerce and Zen Cart. Before starting the company, we ourselves had searched for and tried many web hosting companies which claimed to support osCommerce or Zen Cart, but time and time again, we were disappointed in the service provided. Sometimes it was page parse times and/or SQL queries that were horribly slow. Other times it was hosts with transaction limits on their database or even throttling our sites bandwidth.
It quickly became apparent that the vast majority of hosts don't care about the needs of OSC and Zen users. They just want to overload their servers with as many accounts as possible to squeeze every last dime out their investment. (yes, that is greed)
So when we started Sashbox, we adopted two golden-rules that we would abide by:
- The number of clients on the servers is less important than the performance of the client accounts currently on the servers.
- Maintaining the performance of OS Commerce and Zen Cart clients is the number one priority.
A significant majority of our clients are refugees from other hosting companies, including some very big and well known names in the business -- even some who claim to 'specialize' in OSC and Zen Cart hosting.
And we must be doing something right. As of this date (September 17th 2005), we have never had a Zen Cart or osCommerce client leave for another host. (knock on wood)
